GOLD: The Un-Selfie Project Glass Buffalo
The Un-selfie Project, with its short sections floating separately from one another in two columns spread over several pages, deftly explores the reflexive, fleeting “self” unsuccessfully, if compulsively, caught by the narrator’s cellphone camera. In an endless blizzard of “self”-portraits, how can one know one’s “self” amongst all these “selves”? The poem is deftly written in a simple languages that cuts below the anaesthetized, endlessly photographed contemporary skin.

The content in these poems is extremely relevant, and the poet’s word choice highlights the harsh reality. This sent shivers down my spine.
